Cooking island with unlimited functionality

The solution for the future of gastronomy is a transformable, height-adjustable cooking island. The professional kitchen appliance won the top design prize at the European Product Design Award (EPDA) competition for its efficiency, ergonomics and unique design.

The perception of gastronomy developers is changing: there is an increasing focus on quality and more limited menus, and a desire to specialize in one area. As a result, there is often a preference for fewer units, but with a focus on quality and the appliances that are exclusively dedicated to cooking specific dishes. These developments show that catering is becoming more professional: restaurants are unafraid to show their open kitchens and the work that is done within.

One unit – unlimited functionality

The island is unique in that it is adaptable to each chef's needs and can be arranged in different ways. It can be placed along the wall when there is not much production space in the room. Or it can be in the center, where the whole team can cook at the same time around it. And with its adjustable height, it allows several different teams to work comfortably. This aspect is highly valued by chefs.

The cooking island enables large teams of staff to work quickly and efficiently. The product brings together more than a dozen different components: a grill, an induction cooker, a WOK induction hob, a deep fryer and other appliances to help you meet even the toughest gastronomic challenges.

The one-piece ventilation hood gives the island a distinctive design and spatially defines the workspace. The heat-resistant, non-scratch 8 mm stainless steel worktop ensures a long service life. Studies show that viruses persist shorter on stainless steel, making it a more hygienic choice for catering areas. It is easy to clean and maintain. Optional equipment on the island integrates digital controllers for more precise temperature maintenance (within 1C degrees), allowing you to monitor and reduce energy costs.

Plug and play is a very clear and simple operating principle, where each device does not need to be connected individually – a single cable is all you need. This simplifies both installation and maintenance work.

Handles with a functional design are the final touch of the cooking island project. The handles are made of stainless steel in a unified design and are durable and easy to clean.

In the context of the European Union's Green Deal and future sustainability trends, traditional gas solutions have been excluded from the cooking island. It integrates only induction – environmentally friendly solutions.

The island's integrated refrigeration table uses Eco-friendly R290 propane refrigerant.

Cooking island – the fruit of years of experience, knowledge and work

The CEO of Novameta says that the company produces complex projects rather than mass-production: "What makes us unique in Europe is that we can produce a customized, highly sophisticated project for an entire kitchen in a short period of time. We work with partners from Switzerland and Italy, whose high-quality components are integrated into our products."

The cooking island maintains consistency while leaving room for specific customer needs: different dimensions, colors, logo placement and other customization down to the smallest detail.

"I am very happy about the progressiveness of UAB Audores, because they are really working in an innovative way, with a completely different approach to cooperation. I believe that customers who see this our product at Audores will appreciate it as the result of many years of experience and knowledge. I think that kitchen islands will soon become as popular at the seaside as they are in Vilnius and Kaunas", – says Mindaugas Jonuškis.

The Novameta cooking island will be on display in the Audores showroom from June 2023.
